I discovered Mike:
Well, it started with a QE2-tape a friend of mine found in the snow while skeeing in the alps somewere. This must have been in the early 80s. He liked the music, and when there was a concert on television with Mike Oldfield (I don't remember today what concert it was) he came over to my place to see it there. Since he was very interested we tried to tape it on this kind of old tape recorders (you know with two wheels). So I sat there with a microphone in hand pointing to the television :) during the concert (any audio-out plug on televisions were rare at that time). What we finaly got was rather dull sounding recording with occational barks from our dogs and my mother asking us if we wanted something to eat and so on.... Anyway I got to like his music then and I actually listened to the tape a lot (the dog-barks adding to the flavor). My MO interest got a big boost again later when I found the Amarok-mailinglist....
